Choral Placement for 2020-2021

If you are planning to stay in the choir you were in, for this one year, there is no need to audition. If you want to switch from one choir to another, you will need to complete a Choral Placement Video Audition.

For this one year only, you should sing up to 1 minute of a song that shows off your singing ability the very best. The type of song does not matter for this years auditions. Please find a karaoke track to sing along with. A cell phone video is totally fine. I will need you to upload this video to the link below by WEDNESDAY JULY 8TH! You will also need to complete the Google Form (link below) even if you are planning to stay in the same choir.

Meet The Director

Michael Santangelo is very excited to be starting his third year as part of the Athens Drive family. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Crane School of Music in voice and choral singing. While at Crane, Michael was a member of the Potsdam Pointercounts, SUNY Potsdam’s only all male a cappella group. In addition to his a cappella singing, Michael has a large background in recording and music technology.

As a musician, he has played for the First National Tour of Disney's High School Musical, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do (Branson MO production) and many regional theater productions including Tommy, All Shook Up, Footloose, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady, and Bat Boy. In Raleigh, Michael has musically directed NCT Conservatory's Master Summer Theatre Arts School productions of In The Heights, Jesus Christ Superstar, Crazy for You, Oklahoma, and Pippin. He has played in the orchestra’s for NCT's Altar Boys, The Little Mermaid, A Chorus Line, Spamalot, Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty and the Beast, and Spamalot. He has musically directed shows for Theatre Raleigh, Raleigh Little Theatre, Justice Theater Project, and North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre.

As an educator, Michael has been a teacher in the NY public school system as well as many years of after school and summer theatre programs. He currently works with North Carolina Theatre Conservatory teaching voice, piano, and theatre classes. Michael comes to NC with over 15 years experience in music and theatre education.
