NC Honors Chorus
Auditioning for the NC Honors Chorus is a great way to challenge yourself outside of the classroom!
School Based Audition: Schedule a time with Mrs. Santa Croce by Tuesday, September 6
Registration for Selected Auditionees: Wednesday, September 7
NC Honors Audition Date: Saturday, September 24, Time TBD, Methodist University, Fayetteville, NC
(transportation is not provided)
Zone Rehearsal: Tuesday, November 1 3:30pm - 5:20pm @ Enloe High School
Performance Weekend: November 5-6 at UNCSA Stevens Center, Winston Salem
This year's clinician will be Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt from University of Toronto!

You may select which voice part you would like to use for auditions.
The practice tracks from North Carolina Music Educators Association are available on this website and at the links below. Mrs. Sata Croce will handle registration, so just look for practice tracks on the website and don't worry about any other information.
Sight Reading
Please use Sight Reading Factory to practice. Select your voice part and between Level 4 and 5.
Practicing every day! The more you practice, the easier the auditions will be!
Audition Process...
In School Auditions (Mr. Santangelo) - Wednesday September 1st at 2:30pm in the Chorus Room.
Sing measure 1 to 36 on your voice part (DOES NOT NEED TO BE MEMORIZED).Sing a sight reading example from sight-reading factory around level 5.
If you are selected from these audition to move on to State Auditions...
State Audition (Outside Adjudicator) - Thursday Sept 23rd Time TBA at Meredith College
Sing audition cut on your voice part (DOED NOT NEED TO BE MEMORIZED).Sing sight-reading example that is equivalent to level 5 in sight-reading factory.
VIRTUAL STATE AUDITIONS - Videos will need to be recorded and uploaded by September 22nd at 7pm. More information to come!
***Our program is able send a limited number of students to the State Auditions. The School Auditions for Mr. Santangelo will determine who is ready to attend the State Auditions.
IF Selected for NC Honors Chorus...
Around 1500 students across the state audition for 176 spots in NC Honors Chorus.
If you are selected for NC Honors Chorus you need to be available to...
Learn 5-7 songs (NOT MEMORIZED), (Mr. Santangelo will help but you will work mostly on your own).
Go to a rehearsal on Nov. 3 at Enloe HS from 3 pm - 6 pm
Go to Honors Chorus Weekend November 6 & 7 in Winston Salem
Costs...
There are costs associated with Honors Chorus. Please don't let these fees cause you to not audition. Contact me if you have any questions (msantangelo@wcpss.net)
