Choral Placement

Students wishing to participate in Proficient or Advanced level choirs must take part in Choral Placement Auditions. These auditions will take place after school from May 1-4, 2023 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm in the Athens Drive Chorus Room. If you are auditioning, you MUST fill out the audition info Google Form by CLICKING HERE. You MUST be signed in to your Wake ID account to fill the form out. The Google Form should be completed by Thursday, May 4.

For students wishing to participate in Beginning Level (Fall), there is no audition necessary. Students wishing to participate in Intermediate Level (Spring), you must have completed Beginning Chorus or have permission from the instructor.

***Note - There are expenses associated with chorus including a $30 Fair Share Assessment Fee each semester, and a one time fee for Formal Choral Attire as well as any fees for field trips. Beginning (Fall Only)

  • No audition is necessary. This level is for students who are new to the program.

  • Available for 9th through 12th graders.

  • Listed in the registration catalog as Vocal Music-Beginning.

Intermediate (Spring Only)

  • Students must have completed Beginning level or have permission from the instructor.

  • Available for 9th through 12th graders.

  • Listed in the registration catalog as Vocal Music-Intermediate.

Proficient (Honors) - Full Year Class

  • Students must be placed in this level by participating in the Choral Placement Auditions.

  • Available for 9th through 12th graders.

  • Listed in the registration catalog as Vocal Music-Proficient.

  • Students must register for both Fall and Spring Semesters.

Advanced (Honors) - Full Year Class

  • Students must be placed in this level by participating in the Choral Placement Auditions.

  • Available for 10th through 12th graders.

  • Listed in the registration catalog as Vocal Music-Advanced

  • Students must register for both Fall and Spring Semesters.


CURRENT ATHENS DRIVE CHORUS STUDENTS WHEN YOU GO TO REGISTER...

Put the chorus you want to be placed in on your registration. Choral Placement Auditions will determine which choir you are placed in for next year. Your schedule will be updated to reflect this after the auditions are completed.

INCOMING STUDENTS WHO WILL BE NEW TO ATHENS DRIVE CHORUS...

You are able to register for Beginning Chorus in the Fall with no Choral Placement Audition. If you would like to participate in Choral Placement Auditions, please contact me at esantacroce@wcpss.net, sign up on the sheet outside the chorus room and fill out the Google Form by CLICKING HERE. Choral Placement Auditions will take place from May 1-4 in the Athens Drive Chorus Room.

INCOMING FRESHMEN

Sign up for Vocal Music - Beginning (Fall) and Vocal Music - Intermediate (Spring). If you only want to take chorus for one semester you MUST take it in the fall.

*This is all subject to change based on the amount of people for each voice part there are at Choral Placement auditions as well as the level of those students.
